Drivers may cause issues on Windows PCs; a bad driver may cause crashes, data loss and other issues, or even prevent the system from booting up correctly. Managing drivers with native Windows tools is not a pleasant experience for the most part. DriverView is a free bit and bit program for Microsoft Windows systems that administrators may use to list all third-party drivers installed loaded on the system among other things.
Windows users may use Nirsoft's ServiceWin program to display all installed drivers on the system. The Nirsoft application is portable and compatible with all recent and many not so recent versions of the operating system. The program is offered as a bit and bit executable, and has a size of under Kilobytes unpacked. The interface lists installed drivers by default.
These include native Windows drivers and third-party drivers. Each driver is listed with its file name and type, path, modification and creation date, and many other parameters. Some have descriptions while others may not.
Note that you need to refresh the driver listing after enabling the option as it is not added automatically when you enable the option. DriverView may be run from the command line.
The parameters are limited as there is no export only non-Microsoft drivers to a file. DriverView is a handy software program to analyze installed third-party drivers on Windows machines. Choose if you want to Stage update content for the catalog. When you stage the content, all updates in the selected categories are automatically downloaded to your top-level software update point meaning you don't need to ensure they're already downloaded before deploying.
You should only automatically stage content for updates you are likely to deploy them to avoid excessive bandwidth and storage requirements. You can edit and existing subscription by selecting Properties from the ribbon or the right-click menu. Some options are only available for v3 third-party update catalogs, which support categories for updates. In the Third-Party Software Update Catalogs node, right-click on the catalog and select Unsubscribe to stop synchronizing the catalog.
You can also use the Unsubscribe option from the ribbon. When you unsubscribe from a catalog, the approval for catalog signing and update content certificates are removed. Existing updates aren't removed, but you may not be able to deploy them. With custom catalogs, you also have the option of deleting it after you've unsubscribed.
Select Delete Custom Catalog from either the ribbon or the right-click menu for the catalog. This log is on the top-level software update point in the site system Logs folder.
